The Book of Luke is the third book of the New Testament and is the longest of the four Gospels. It details Jesus of Nazareth's story from his birth to his Ascension and is the only book that contains certain popular parables, such as The Prodigal Son and The Good Samaritan. This account has a special emphasis on prayer and also presents the humanity of Jesus, featuring his compassion for the weak, the suffering and the outcast.
