Erotik
She enters the marriage expecting duty, not desire. Her husband's remote, leaving her untouched and restless in rooms that feel too large, too quiet, too full of waiting.
Then there is the man who arrives with business, with reasons to stay, with eyes that meet hers across dinner tables and do not look away. He is not hers to want. Every rule she has been taught says to keep still, keep proper, keep separate. Her body refuses.
The first time happens in darkness, her back against a locked door, his mouth tracing the place where her collarbone meets her throat. She does not stop him. She does not want to. Each meeting after becomes more deliberate, more hungry, more reckless with locations and timing: a library corner, a garden shed rain, his carriage while rain covers the sound of her gasping his name. He learns where she likes to be touched. She learns how he sounds when he is close to losing control.
Her husband remains unaware, or perhaps uninterested. The contrast wounds and excites her. She is performing wifehood while becoming something else entirely in shadowed rooms with a man who asks what she wants, who waits for her answer, who makes her articulate desire she never knew she held.
The arrangement frays at edges she cannot see. Someone notices the way they do not touch in company, the particular avoidance that signals awareness rather than indifference. Her reputation, already currency in this match, becomes fragile, then threatened. He offers solutions that involve leaving, that involve choosing, that involve admitting this was never mere diversion for either of them.
She must decide whether the life constructed for her holds any value against what she has discovered with him: the specific weight of his hand at her hip, the particular angle that makes her beg, the afterward when he stays inside conversation and skin contact rather than withdrawing.
The novel follows their escalating involvement through risk and exposure, culminating in choices that restructure what marriage, fidelity, and her own appetite mean to her. Contains explicit scenes of adulterous encounter, power dynamics negotiated within sexual context, and emotional complication that does not resolve simply.
