Beside The Fire: A Collection Of Irish Gaelic Folk Stories is a compilation of traditional Irish folk tales and legends, as told by Douglas Hyde. The book contains a total of 36 stories, each of which is steeped in the rich and vibrant culture of Ireland. The tales are set against a backdrop of the stunning Irish landscape, and are full of magical creatures such as leprechauns, fairies, and banshees. The book is divided into three sections, each focusing on a different type of story: the first section is dedicated to fairy tales, the second to ghost stories, and the third to legends and myths. The stories are written in a simple and accessible style, making them perfect for readers of all ages. Hyde's love for his native country shines through in every tale, and the book is a must-read for anyone interested in Irish folklore and culture.
