Leaving New Zealand at just sixteen, Paul Hattaway's life seemed destined for failure. Homeless, hungry, and sleeping on the roof of a public bathroom in Australia, he was written off by his high school principal as "a waste of oxygen." But God had a very different plan.
After a fellow factory worker shared his faith with him, Paul encountered Jesus Christ and everything changed. Gripped by a burning conviction that God was calling him to China, Paul stepped out in radical obedience. In 1988 he arrived in Hong Kong with nothing more than a backpack, a single contact, and $50 in his pocket.
From those humble beginnings, Paul began serving as a Bible courier - smuggling hundreds of Bibles at a time into China, right under the noses of border guards, so that persecuted Christians could have access to God's Word. What started as one young man’s obedience grew into a powerful, faith-filled ministry.
Today, Paul Hattaway leads Asia Harvest, the organization he founded to serve the persecuted church across Asia.
Asia Harvest has:
Supported thousands of indigenous missionaries Supplied over 10 million Bibles to China Distributed millions more Bibles to Christians in nations across Asia
An Asian Harvest is Paul Hattaway’s astonishing true story - from rejection and despair to faith, courage, and a life of radical mission. This inspiring Christian biography will encourage you to trust God's calling, step out in faith, and believe that no life is beyond His power to transform.
