#35 - Robert Falconer - After Reading His Book: The Others Within Us: Internal Family Systems, Porous Mind, and Spirit Possession - A Talk About The Porous Mind Model

What Robert Falconer - Bob- says is that possession-like phenomena occur all over the world and in all areas of history. Possession states are a psychobiological capacity available in all societies and that possession states are desirable and normal OR pathologized and scorned, which reflect whether the society values them or marginalize them. For example the nineteenth century mediumship and twentieth century channeling are in the tradition of possession. Listen in as we speak about how this healing method /understanding works despite spirit possession being ridiculed in most western contexts. As I was reading it, I started my normal research mode by googling every author he mentioned, that I hadn't heard of BUT as I realized just how many references there in this book- I had to stop that ! I mean in order to finish the book this year! I will go back to this book (The others within, from 2023, Robert Falconer) again and again as it contains huge ressources on more information about the views on enteties across cultures and methods and it lists many experts who thought outside the box.
