This episode’s guest is Ashley Zumwalt-Forbes. Ashley is a born and raised Oklahoma native with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. 

Ashley is the co-founder and President of Black Mountain Metals, where her company is betting big on the raw materials that will supply the future growth in energy storage.

The Talk Energy Direct series is a way for me to connect directly with listeners in an unscripted way that is unformatted and therefore open ended on how I take it each episode. More than anything I just wanted another way to connect with listeners and keep creating content.

This episode’s guest is Alex Epstein the author of the Moral Case for Fossil Fuels and the founder of the Center for Industrial Progress. 

Alex is a Philosopher by trade and is known for his objectivism and using critical thinking to craft his arguments. Many may think of Alex as just an advocate for the fossil fuels industry, but in practical terms fossil fuels are just a means to his end. 

Alex’s true loyalty lies in whatever form of energy will bring prosperity and flourishing to human conditions around the world. 

This episode is filled with discussion around social media censorship, the paradoxes of the modern energy debate, and if there is a possibility for fossil fuels and renewables to co-exist.

This episode's guest is Andy Wood the Subsurface Manager for CeraPhi Energy. Andy has had a career that was primarily in oil and gas but has recently made the switch over to the renewables side doing cutting edge Geothermal projects. 

This episode is filled with discussions around how oil and gas workers can utilize their existing skillsets in the energy transition, we also talk about the basics of geothermal technology and how it's evolving, lastly we discuss how geothermal is a form of perpetual energy that could be a key technology of the energy transition.
