Volleyball is a dynamic and fast-paced sport that has captivated players and fans worldwide. Originally invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan, the game was designed as a less physically demanding alternative to basketball. Over time, volleyball evolved into a highly strategic and physically intense sport played both recreationally and competitively across the globe.

The objective of volleyball is simple—two teams compete to score points by sending the ball over the net and landing it in the opposing team's court. Each team has six players on the court, and they must work together to execute plays within three touches: a pass, a set, and an attack. This structure makes teamwork and communication essential elements of the game.

Understanding the basic rules and regulations is crucial for new players. Matches are typically played in a best-of-five set format, with each set requiring a team to reach 25 points with at least a two-point lead. The fifth set, if needed, is played to 15 points. Rally scoring is used, meaning a point is awarded on every serve, regardless of which team served. Faults, such as carrying the ball, stepping over the service line, or touching the net, result in points for the opposing team.
