#1 I was arrested with my parents, and placed in safe houses by the police. I was numb, as though it was all happening to someone else. I knew it wasn’t me, but I still felt as though it was.

#2 I had always been loyal to my mother, even when she was arrested for the murders. I couldn’t imagine she was capable of such crimes. I was stunned when the police told me that the house had been bugged, because I had been interviewing my mother for them and now my job was over, I wasn’t needed any longer.

#3 I had to quit my job after Dad’s arrest, so I had no money or support. I couldn’t understand how what had happened would affect my entire future life.

#4 The hardest part for me to deal with has been the fact that my mother did play a part in the crimes she was accused of. She did not love and protect us as children, but she did care for us deeply.
