Eveline, The Amorous Adventures of a Victorian Lady is a classic erotic novel, probably published in the mid-19th century. The central character Eveline is what few Victorian women could dream of being, she is totally "free"; free of body, free of mind, and free to enjoy all the flavors of pleasure. No one possesses Eveline, she possesses them for her own purposes, the main one being to extract maximum pleasure. Eveline is also free because she is sterile. She has a condition that prevents her from conceiving, which frees her from the constraints of motherhood, making her much more like the women of today than those of her time. Eveline is happy with this condition, keeps it a secret and continues to play the role of good wife to her husband, whom she married for convenience. At the same time, she has fun with butlers, waiters, coachmen, piano teachers, policemen, chauffeurs and anyone else who strikes her fancy.
