Mailbag: Who will surprise us the most this season?

Liverpool took Crystal Palace to penalties. Vithushan Ehantharajah, aka the Football Ramble’s official Rat Correspondent, thinks that Liverpool will be pleased with the outcome.

He’s joined by Marcus and Jim to look back on what was a “good game, good game” - although it might have been even better if Dean Henderson swapped his cap for an Oasis bucket hat. This week the tremendous twosome cover Nigel Pearson's appointment as Watford manager, something that no-one (including either of them!) saw coming. After that there's chat about the Dean Smith project at Aston Villa and whether, after a huge financial outlay, they're in trouble of going straight back down again this season.

There's also troubling news as reports of homophobic chanting in the Premier League surface on the weekend the top flight celebrated LGBT inclusion as part of the Rainbow Laces campaign.
